Trump Deadlift
The competitor will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps on either bar 1 or the Trump bar as possible. The athletes may swap between bars throughout the event.
Eg, if unsuccessful on the Trump bar, athletes may move back to Bar 1. If successful on Bar 1, then successful on the Trump bar, the Trump bar is counted, not Bar 1.
Results are determined by:
The greatest number of reps possible; Noting that one rep on the trump bar will beat any number of reps on Bar 1.
All athletes will begin on a starting line.
The event commences with a “GO” call. Athletes may then move to the bar they wish to lift.
To receive a “DOWN” call standard DL rules apply:
Hips and knees must be locked out, and shoulders in line with the body.
All weight must leave the ground for a successful rep
The bar must remain in the hands
The lift will be deemed “no rep” if the bar moves down into the fingertips and the bar is no longer in contact with the palm of the hand.
The bar must be returned to the ground with the hands in contact.
Failure to maintain contact will invalidate the rep
At lock out athletes will receive a visible, and audible “DOWN” call. If athletes lower the bar before the down call it will result in a “No Rep”.
The bar must be lowered to the floor under control. If the ref deems the bar has been dropped, or lowered in an overly aggressive or throwing manner, it will be deemed a no rep.
That rep may be reattempted within the time limit.
In the case that an athlete misses a lift, for safety reasons, the athlete may have 2 attempts at that weight within the time frame. An attempt is counted as soon as the implement leaves its resting position.
Equipment allowed:
A single Soft Belt
A single Hard Belt
(Belts may be worn simultaneously)
Figure-6 or Figure-8 straps
Baby Powder
Deadlift suits
Squat Briefs
Chalk or Liquid Chalk
Not Allowed: Grip aid of any kind, headphones/earbuds
A minimum of socks must be worn.
Athletes will have 90 seconds to find and achieve a successful rep at a max weight on the Stand or Submit Log (Australian handles). 10” for Females, 12” for Males.
Max Log
Athletes will have 90 seconds to find and achieve a successful rep at a max weight on the Stand or Submit Log (Australian handles). 10” for Females, 12” for Males.
Event commences with a “GO!” call.
Athletes may nominate a starting weight, but once the “GO!” call is given, it is the athlete’s own responsibility to load their log for additional attempts. The athlete must receive a successful “DOWN” call before they may add weight.
We will allow two reasonable attempts at locking out the lift at a certain weight. A reasonable attempt counts as soon as the log leaves the pads.
A successful rep constitutes:
Elbows, hips, and knees locked out
Feet under hips
Head through to be in line with the arms/shoulders
Implement is stable overhead
Implement is controlled back to the ground once the verbal and visual down call has been given. This simply means hands remain in contact with the log until waist height
The ref will give a down call once the log is in the locked-out position. If an athlete is unable to complete the lift overhead, they may re-racked the log between attempts and the press attempted again. All other attempts are a full clean and press.
Once the athlete receives a “Down!” call for a successful rep, the log must be controlled back down to the log pads.
The athlete must wait for both a visible call (lowering of the hand) AND an audible call (a shout of DOWN) before lowering the bar. Simply seeing a small movement of the judge’s hand and returning the bar to the ground does not constitute control of the bar. This will result in a “no lift”.
Similarly, after receiving a down call, if the athlete drops the implement behind their head, or intentionally drops the bar in a way that risks the volunteers, audience, or the equipment, if deemed by the ref, this will result in a no lift e.g. throwing of the log, slamming of the log, letting go in the overhead position and stepping back, etc.
At no point may the log rest on top of your head. Doing so will be deemed a no lift. The athlete will be told to put the log down and start the rep again.
A hard and a soft belt may be worn for this event, but the hard belt may not be looped in such a way as to assist in cleaning the log.
A Strict Press, Push Press, Push Jerk or Split jerk is allowed.

Atlas Stone Series
Stones: Highest Points Win
Athletes will have 90 seconds to rack up as many points as possible by successfully lifting atlas stones over 1.2m.
Results are determined by:
Highest number of points win
Event commences with a “GO!” call when the athletes hands are resting on the 1.2m mark– athletes must wait for the call before making contact with the stone.
It will be the athlete’s responsibility to move their own stones for lifting within the time limit. This includes moving the previously lifted stone out of the way should you be moving on to a different stone.
If you fail to move a stone out of the way, and the stone gets damaged as a direct result of this, you will receive an immediate zero on the event and your attempt will be over.
Athletes are not permitted to grab the cross bar to aid the stone going over the bar. If this does occur, the athlete will be told to put the stone down and retake the rep.
Launching stones, as determined by the ref, will receive a warning. A second infraction will result in a zero score.
Crew/Helper/Other athlete cannot hold smelling salts or back slap at the crossbar. This must be done off the comp floor area.
For Fairness, flooring/mats will not be turned over/adjusted during a weight class. Only at the change over between weight classes will this occur.
Athletes may pretack/adjust the stones to the preferred position or as the crew politely to assist, however this must be done quickly and without delaying the event. The judge has discretion to give a time wasting warning and then start your 90 seconds if deemed to be taking too long.
