The Work Horse Stiff Bar Deadlift for Rep

Athletes will deadlift a power bar for as many reps as possible within a 60 sec time limit.

  • Total reps completed is your score.

  • Athletes can start strapped into the bar.

  • Athletes must wait for the judge’s command to receive a good rep.

  • No lift will count unless a down signal is received from the judge.

  • To receive the down command, the athlete must demonstrate full lockout with their hips and knees locked out, and their shoulders neutral.

  • You are NOT ALLOWED to drop the bar from lockout. Your knees and/or hips must unlock before you let go. The judge will have discretion to remove a good lift due to letting go of the bar from the lockout.

  • Conventional stance only. Hands must be outside of feet and knees.

  • Lifting straps and chalk are allowed. (Figure 8 straps are allowed, but palm of the hand must remain in contact with the bar.)

LumberJacks Burden Log Zercher Carry

Athlete will carry a pair of farmers for maximum distance.

Maximum Distance Zercher Log Carry

Time Limit: 75 Seconds

The athlete will have 75 seconds to lift the timber log from the starting position, establish a legal Zercher position, and carry the log for maximum distance.

STARTING POSITION

The timber log will begin resting on tyres.

The athlete may lift the log from the tyres using any method they choose. However, before advancing along the course, the log must be secured in a Zercher position, supported across the athlete’s arms/elbow crease and in front of the torso.

The athlete may not begin progressing down the course until the log is in a legal Zercher position.

THE CARRY

Once the athlete begins moving with the log:

• The objective is to cover the maximum possible distance within 75 seconds.

• The athlete may adjust the position of the log while continuing to move.

• The athlete may not stop and deliberately crouch, squat down, or otherwise rest the log on their body to reposition or recover.

• A brief loss of forward momentum due to balance or changing direction is permitted, provided the athlete is not deliberately using the stop to rest or reposition the log.

• The log must remain supported in the Zercher position throughout the carry.

• No drops are permitted. Once the log contacts the ground, the athlete’s attempt is finished.

• Athletes may not use a lifting strap or any other implement around the back of the neck to assist in supporting or holding the log.

SCORING

The athlete’s result will be the maximum distance completed before:

• The 75-second time limit expires

• The log is dropped or contacts the ground

• The athlete deliberately stops to rest/reposition the log

• The referee calls the attempt for a rules violation

Distance will be measured to the furthest point of the log reached along the course when the attempt ends.

PERMITTED EQUIPMENT

Athletes may use:

• Powder chalk

• Liquid chalk (yes, grip jizz)

• Knee sleeves

• Elbow sleeves

• Wrist wraps

• Lifting straps

• Neoprene shorts

Lifting straps may be used to assist with handling the log but cannot be looped around the athlete’s neck or used to create a neck-supported harness.

• Tacky

• Tacky towels

• Tacky spray
