The short version
We collect what we need to run competitions: your account details, your registration information, and basic technical data. Competition results are public. Payments are handled by Stripe — we never see your full card number. We are a US company with part of our team in the United Kingdom, so your data is processed in the United States and the UK. Questions and requests: [email protected].
Who we are
StrengthTech, Inc. ("StrengthTech", "we", "us") runs strengthtech.app. For data-protection purposes we are the controller of the platform data described here. For the details entrants give a specific competition, the organizer of that competition decides how they are used, and we process them on the organizer's behalf.
What we collect
- Account details — name, email address, password (stored hashed).
- Registration details — what a competition needs to run: your category, answers to the organizer's questions, and where relevant things like weigh-in results, t-shirt size, or an emergency contact.
- Purchase details — what you bought and for which competition. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, and the country your connection appears to come from (we use this only to pick a sensible default region on the competition listing).
- Competition media — organizers may upload photos and results from their events, which can include you.
How we use it
- To run competitions: registration, scoring, schedules, and live results.
- To show public competition information — see the next section.
- To take payments and pass entry/ticket orders to the organizer.
- To answer support requests and send service emails (not marketing).
- To keep the service secure and understand how it is used (see the Cookie policy).
Competition results are public
Competing in a competition is a public activity. Your name, your category, and your results appear on public scoreboards and schedules, and may remain visible in archives afterwards. If a result page about you is causing a genuine problem, contact us and we will work with the organizer on it.
Who we share data with
- The organizer of a competition you enter — they see your registration details and orders.
- Stripe, which processes all payments under its own privacy policy.
- Service providers that host and protect the platform — our hosting provider, Cloudflare (content delivery and security), and Google Analytics (usage statistics).
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
Where your data lives
We are based in the United States and process data there. Part of our team works from the United Kingdom, so some processing — such as support, operations, and administration — also takes place in the UK. If you use the service from another country, your information is transferred to the US and, where needed for those activities, the UK. Wherever it is processed, we protect it as described in this policy.
How long we keep it
Account and registration data is kept while your account is active and for as long as we need it for the purposes above (for example, competition archives and financial records). You can ask us to delete your account data; results already published as part of a competition's public record may be retained.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live — for example the EEA, the UK, or California — you may have specific legal rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your data, and the right to complain to your local regulator. Email [email protected] and we will respond.
Children
The platform is not aimed at children. Registrations for minors — for example youth categories — must be made by a parent or guardian.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be posted here with a new date at the top.
